About Quarterline Artist Management...
At Quarterline Artist Management we are committed to effective representation and promotion of our clients. Principal Representative Quincy Bruckerhoff started Quarterline in 2008 with the intention of offering comprehensive marketing and strategic career planning to develop and enhance the careers of busy designers and directors. We have worked with a wide variety of opera, dance, and theater companies including San Francisco Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Houston Grand Opera, Washington National Opera, Central City Opera, Gotham Chamber Opera, and San Diego Opera as well as dance and theater companies at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington Ballet, American Conservatory Theater, Marin Theater Company, Diversionary Theater, and the Weston Playhouse. Internationally, we have worked with Teatro Municipal de Santiago in Chile, Grand Téâtre de Genève, Opera de Roma, and Teatro Sodre in Uruguay.
Before starting Quarterline, Quincy Bruckerhoff spent a decade criss-crossing the country as a freelance stage manager working for San Francisco Opera, Washington National Opera, Sarasota Opera, and Utah Symphony and Opera before settling down as a technical coordinator for Washington National Opera.
In both capacities, contract negotiation and career management have been key aspects of her work. As a stage manager she not only negotiated her own contracts, but was on several negotiating committees for AGMA. She learned first hand the art of self-promotion and the constant need to balance the current job with looking for future work. While a member of the technical department, she managed all rentals of scenery, properties, and titles including the negotiation, writing, and administration of the contracts. She learned that creating a show from the design perspective is a multi-stage process with a majority of the work done well in advance of time in the theater.
